Chair Make Over

Chair Make Over

I have 2 chairs like this that are long overdue
for a seat fabric make over.
I found some fabric which I paid only
.50 cents for a piece
45" x 25"
( can't beat the price)
I took the chair seat of the frame and removed all the
staples.
Using the fabric that was on the chairs as a pattern
I cut the new fabric

the cushions were still in great condition

next step staple the new fabric to the seat

chair seat complete
I then screwed the seat back onto the chair.
here is the before
and after

tools used:
. 50 cents piece of fabric
screw gun
staple gun
hammer
screw driver
 1/2 hour of my time

what do  you think?

Summertime

Summertime

  I love summertime.
warm summer evening, fresh flowers and  vegetables, garden tea,
lemonade and Picnics in the park.
Campfires, smores, roasted hog dogs.
Bike rides,and walks,
along with that there is weeding, hoeing the garden and mowing.

I wanted to freshen up my table
center piece
here is what I came up with.

 old empty soda bottles
 added a daisy
how simple, fresh and easy.

hope your summer is going well.

Johnny Jump Ups

My Johnny Jump Ups
They are comming up all over the place
but I'm trying hard to keep them contained in
the reservatory.
I added a birdhouse and birdbath (teacup and saucer)
the little chandelier I made from old crystals
and a dinner fork
it glitters and shines in the sunlight.
They are hard to contain to a certain area
I guess that's why they are called
Johnny Jump Ups
they jump up all over the place.

Garden Arbor

We have had our share of high winds
and rain this year. The other evening we had lots
of large tree branches down. So we decided
to use these branches to make a  garden arbor.
We started by digging some holes 18" deep
at the edge of our garden
we cut 4, 8 ft branches and started our arbor
We cut smaller pieces and put them across
the top for a roof
 Then we added sides
When the arbor was complete our little neighbor
girl wanted her picture taken
standing in the arbor.
We then decided it needs some fence along the sides
its not perfect but we like it.
I planted a wisteria plant in hopes it will
grow over the arbor

and perhaps
add some plants in front of the fence.
Looking at this picture I think it needs a sign hanging on the arbor
"Welcome to my garden"
or a little bird house sitting on the fence post.
I'll try and keep you posted as to what I do.
but for now this is what it looks like.

Strawberries

Strawberry season
I love fresh strawberries and
Strawberry jam with warm homemade bread.
.
So I decided to make 2 batches of strawberry jam.
Do I have any volunteers to make me homemade bread
to go with my jam?
