Bringing the outside in

                                                             With the cold nights here
                                                          I decided to bring my plants
                                                               inside were its warm.
                                                                     They take
                                                                 up soooooooo
                                                        much room but I really didn't
                                                           want to see them freeze.
                                                         So for the time I put them in
                                                                the living room
                                                           where they will stay as
                                                            long as they survive.
                                                                   

                                                           My thumb is not very good
                                                         with indoor plants, but we will
                                                               see how well they do.
                                                            For now they are nice and
                                                                            lush.

                                              
                                                    and not to forget my little angel with the
                                                                   succulent plants

Front Door

                                                   Recently visiting our son and his wife
                                                      in North Carolina I took a liking
                                                      to the front doors of the homes
                                                      in their neighbor hood all being
                                                      painted. So I decided to paint
                                                    mine this past week. What color
                                                    to paint it? Red to match the brick ?
                                                       or black to match the shutters?
                                                       
                                                     Before it was white with black trim

                                          

                                                                        
                                                           After some sanding , taping,
                                                         and rolling my valspar paint

                                                                the finished door

                                                                Yes black it is.

                                                             and pick up a few
                                                           mums and pumpkins

                                                          these off white dishes I pick up
                                                   at my favorite thrift store, piece by piece
                                                               for such a low price.
                                                   I can do so much with them they go with
                                                                          anything.

                                                       I want to replace the flowers yet
                                                       they were still so nice I felt bad
                                                       to throw them out. I need to go
                                                           to the local market and buy
                                                     some mums. Oh what color to buy?

                                                               and some candles.

Adorable

                                                  This morning on my way to work
                                                   I stopped at my favorite little
                                                  Thrift shop and found this

                                                  adorable little vintage purse.

                                                    The beautiful tapestry fabric
                                                     and in great condition.

                                              the inside lining is in fine condition as well

                                          did you notice the little pearls
                                          that are used to close it?

                                                    It will not hold much but I love it.
                                                    Simply Adorable!!

Guest room

                                                     My White and Black guest room
   
                                          Choosing a neutral color for the room was easy as
                                                               I like to keep it simple.
                                                                    Black and White     

                                               I found this print fabric and made some pillows,
                                            bed skirt, and valances.And added a splash of color
                                                   with a red throw at the foot end of the bed

                                                                    and a red robe

                                         
                                                 found these white jars at the place I work
                                           

                                           And placed them on top of this old dresser I found.
                                                  I painted it white and added some detail.

                                         The cardboard boxes I found at Jo Ann fabrics
                                                I had so much fun painting them.
                                                I need something red in this area yet.
                                                 Does anyone have a suggestion ?
                                                       I'd like to hear from you .

                                                  
                                                    Stitched up this picture w/some old buttons              
                                                                    a friend gave me.
                                                     and had a friend make me a reclaimed barn
                                                                         siding frame.

                                      
                                                 A flower cannot bloom with out sunshine.

                                            One day I was shopping at a local department store
                                             and found this chandelier,it was gold but
                                             I painted it black and recovered the shades.
                                                  and best part it was marked  $4.00. At the time
                                                I had no idea what I was going to do with it
                                               but thought for that price I can't let it there.

                                          now it is hanging over the dresser in front of the mirror
