I love mirrors.
my house is small
so to make it appear larger
I have added mirrors thru out
our home.
Open your eyes
to the beauty around you
Open your mind
to the wonders of life
Open your heart
to those who love you
And always
be true to yourself.
luv and blessings!

Focal Point
Every room has a focal point. The focal point of the room is what you're eye first falls on when you walk into a room.
In the living room or family room it can be something that is already in a room such as a fireplace or a large window with a beautiful view. If you have a fireplace in your room dress it up to draw your attention to it, such as hanging a beautiful mirror or some kind of wall sculpture above the mantle. A decorative fireplace screen and accessories. If it's a window dress it up with some beautiful window treatment, but don't cover the beautiful view. Arrange your furniture in a way that anyone sitting in the room can appreciate it.
If your not lucky enough to have a built in focal point, it's your chance to be creative and think of ways to make one. A large armoire used for storage, or perhaps an entertainment center for a TV. A large architectural piece used for wall art. Again dress these pieces up to draw the eye to them.
Focal points for the bedroom are often times the bed. So dress it up with beautiful bedding. If you like a more tailored look simple bedding with colorful throw pillows to add that punch of color to have your eye drawn to the bed. Or maybe a custom one of a kind headboard. That you can make yourself and save money.
In the Dining room your table and chairs can be your focal point. You can dress this up with a center piece or adding upholstery chairs with a beautiful fabric at the heads of the table. Or perhaps a fabric covered settee on one side of the table. Beautiful place setting on the table. An your lighting above the table. All to draw you eye to the focal point.
or use your buffet as your focal point
For the bathrooms most likely it will be your vanity. Be creative. There is so much out there to transform into vanity's or have a custom one made. For a modern look have your water facet coming out from the wall behind the sink. The bowl setting on top of the vanity instead of built in the vanity. There are so many styles out there to choose from. And if you are a handy man you can do a lot of this by your self or with the help of your hubby. Again dress it up to draw the eye to it. I had my vanity made by a local craftsman 36" high rather than the normal 30" high to fit into the space. All we had to do was set it in the space. Make sure you have the right measurements.
I like it so much better
than my old cabinets.

Bringing the outside in
With the cold nights here
I decided to bring my plants
inside were its warm.
They take
up soooooooo
much room but I really didn't
want to see them freeze.
So for the time I put them in
the living room
where they will stay as
long as they survive.
My thumb is not very good
with indoor plants, but we will
see how well they do.
For now they are nice and
lush.
and not to forget my little angel with the
succulent plants
luv and blessings

Front Door
Recently visiting our son and his wife
in North Carolina I took a liking
to the front doors of the homes
in their neighbor hood all being
painted. So I decided to paint
mine this past week. What color
to paint it? Red to match the brick ?
or black to match the shutters?
Before it was white with black trim
After some sanding , taping,
and rolling my valspar paint
the finished door
Yes black it is.
Thank you for your visit.hope you'll
be back soon.
