I did get to stop in at a local

                                                             and pick up a few
                                                           mums and pumpkins

Adorable

                                                  This morning on my way to work
                                                   I stopped at my favorite little
                                                  Thrift shop and found this

                                                  adorable little vintage purse.

                                                    The beautiful tapestry fabric
                                                     and in great condition.

                                              the inside lining is in fine condition as well

                                          did you notice the little pearls
                                          that are used to close it?

                                                    It will not hold much but I love it.
                                                    Simply Adorable!!

Guest room

                                                     My White and Black guest room
   
                                          Choosing a neutral color for the room was easy as
                                                               I like to keep it simple.
                                                                    Black and White     

                                               I found this print fabric and made some pillows,
                                            bed skirt, and valances.And added a splash of color
                                                   with a red throw at the foot end of the bed

                                                                    and a red robe

                                         
                                                 found these white jars at the place I work
                                           

                                           And placed them on top of this old dresser I found.
                                                  I painted it white and added some detail.

                                         The cardboard boxes I found at Jo Ann fabrics
                                                I had so much fun painting them.
                                                I need something red in this area yet.
                                                 Does anyone have a suggestion ?

                                                    Stitched up this picture w/some old buttons              
                                                                    a friend gave me.
                                                     and had a friend make me a reclaimed barn
                                                                         siding frame.

                                      
                                                 A flower cannot bloom with out sunshine.

                                            One day I was shopping at a local department store
                                             and found this chandelier,it was gold but
                                             I painted it black and recovered the shades.
                                                  and best part it was marked  $4.00. At the time
                                                I had no idea what I was going to do with it
                                               but thought for that price I can't let it there.

                                          now it is hanging over the dresser in front of the mirror

From Cargo Pants To Back Pack

 1 pair of used Cargo Pants found at a thrift shop 











than I cut the pants into 2-18 x 18"squares
using as many of the pockets as
possible
                                                             

                                                      next sewed pieces together

                                                          hammered in some grommets

                                                    and sewed in 2 D-rings 1 on each side
                                                        used cording for the handles and

                                               
                                                        lined the inside for a finished look

                                                         
                                                             End result a sturdy Back Pack
                                                               with lots of pockets

Garnola Bars

Earlier this week I posted you my breakfast cereal of Granola. A friend of mine recently gave me this recipe for granola bars which I like to keep on hand for a quick snack . This recipe has a lot of the same ingredients as the  granola cereal  I posted. They are very good . Here's the recipe if you'd like to try them.

                                            
  
Granola Bars


1 cup Graham cracker crumbs
5 cups quick oatmeal
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup coconut
1 cup uncooked peanuts crushed
1 cup cranberries cut up
3 tbs flax seed
3 tbs wheat germ
in a large kettle melt :
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup oil
1 1/2 lb marshmallows
after melted add
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey

add this to the dry ingredients
making  a well in center of dry ingredients, pour marshmallow mixture in the well stir quickly w/ greased hands or greased spoon and  pour into large cookie sheet and pat it down  so to make it level.  let set and cut into bars 

                                                        wrap and store

                                                                    DELICIOUS!!
