Fall

Fall is just around the corner. I love the season
of Fall, (I just don't like what comes after it.)
Mums are out in the stores
so I picked up a few for my center piece
for my kitchen table.
I had candles in my distressed box.
I found little potted mums
and thought they would like nice in the box for fall.
what and easy change.
Hope you're enjoying fall as much as I am.
Today was my day off. So I sat out on the patio
w/ a cup of coffee and listened to the chirping of the birds
and took 20 minutes to sit relax and enjoy the beauty of
nature God has so blessed us with.

Enjoy Fall!

Baby Gift

A niece of mine is having a baby boy any day now.
so my sisters and nieces all got together and had a shower
for her and the baby. She has one boy and one girl already
and this one is a boy.
we each decorated a onecie for the baby.
This is what I came up with for him.
Before
 After
so simple and easy I think I will try this again sometime.
We had a great time and every one came up w/ such
great ideas.I just wish I would have taken pictures of
the rest of them for you.

Fresh peaches

Fresh peaches are in season
I bought some to make a fresh peach pie
when I make pie crusts I always make several
and keep them in the freezer, so this is one of those
out of the freezer pie crusts. I love the recipe I use
for pie crusts. I'll have to share w/ you sometime.
It's so quick and easy and so flaky. None of this rolling
out stuff. Throw all ingredients in the pan .
( now that's my kind of pie crust)
today I'm sharing w/ you a peach pie a friend shared w/ me
and we love it.
Buy the way this makes 2 pie.

3 cups water
1/4 cup peach jello
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/3-1/2 cup clear jell
put 3 cups water in a pan and heat till it is hot enough
to dissolve the jello and sugar,
put the clear jell in the 1/2 cup water
stir till disolved
add to the water/jello/sugar mixture
mix to thicken

cool and add fresh peaches.

mix
1 cup powered sugar
1 cup cool whip
6-8 oz soften cream cheese
place this into the bottom of the baked pie shell
 top w/the peach filling

 then top w/ cool whip

So yummy!!

hope your enjoying these warm summer days!!

It's the little things.

sometimes its the little things
that make your day
 Like this small vase
filled with carnations
and baby's breath
from a friend that handed
them out to the ladies
after church on Sunday
your thoughtfulness is so greatly appreciated!!

There are still nice people in
this world that think of others and not just themselves.

Deck Buffet

My Deck Buffet
I got this old reclaimed piece
at the place where I work.
I thought it would make a great buffet for
our patio. It has a wood bottom and metal top.

It has lots of drawers for storage and a large open area.
we had the top sand blasted to protect it from the weather.
It has wheels to move it ,the piece is VERY heavy.
 a hitch in the front
lettering and numbers which I think adds to its character.
We placed the umbrella at its side
now we are ready for a cook out.

Blessings!

Ironstone

Ironstone ware
just some pictures of my white ironstone ware
that I've collected
I use everything I have collected.
dishes to serve dinner
When it's out in the open I can see
what I have
and pull it off the shelf  to use
not only do I use them for decor
but I use it to serve
Can you tell I love my white?
I have used these pitchers many times to hold a nice
bouquet of flowers for the table
If I find another piece I can't live without
I will add it to my collection.

love and blessings!

Center Piece

Making a new center piece for my kitchen table.
First I had a box made out of wood
then painted it a cream color and let ti dry and cure.
  Next I  painted it white.
 While paint was still wet
I took my cooking torch and held it
to the paint in areas till it bubbled.
Then I waited till the paint dried.
Next I took a fine piece of sandpaper an sanded
the box.(where the wood shows is where the bubbles were)
I was pleased how it turned out.
I then set in wide mouth quart jars
w/ white candles in them and wrapped twine around the neck of the jar.
and filled the open space  w/ moss.
I like the patina it has.
The box is new but yet it looks old and worn.

Have a Blessed Easter

love Ruby
